dreamy

im not sure where i found these photos, but they are cute. i think i quickly grabbed them off of ffffound. i really want a tin like the floral one just above! in my free days coming up ill hopefully be travelling around to a few op shops. ill do my best. i want some old photos and pictures to hang around my house. there are so many free hooks! i just hope my housemates will agree with my choices....

sunny day

a large day

i love festivals, and i will be going to the big day out in adelaide tomorrow. im so excited. the weather will be a sunny 32ish. which will be quite warm, so i will be drinking quite a lot of water. although this weather is a lot nicer than last years 40+ degrees! the sunscreen will be plastered and the dancing shall begin! here are a few things that i count as essentials for a festival!

1. if you're going for the shorts look, short denim cutoffs are the go. the raw edging gives attitude and looks great on long legs as you travel from stage to stage. or for a more cutesy look, what i would wear if i wore shorts, floral or check shorts. i used to wear them as tacker but then told my mum they were ugly. now they are a buzz again! there are some cute pairs that are high waisted and loose on the thighs, almost giving the look of a skirt, but alas they are not!

2. a breatable and floaty blouse, to hang loosely over your shorts. with a cute colar. or the hard edged rocker look. animal print or dark grey with band prints.

3. more in my own style, a cute floaty dress. im well known for wearing nothing much other than florals. and tomorrow i plan to wear a new floral dress from sportsgirl. it has a vintage look about it, i think its the cut. the shoulders are slightly puffed, but not noticeably, and the sleeves cover my shoulders protecting from the sun! or a nice maxi with a belt and layered necklaces can never hurt!

4. as much as i love havainas, i cannot wear them to festivals. they dont feel strapped onto my feet enough! so sandals are the go! or little canvas laceups. brogues, moccasins and oxfords are taking a step out on ladies feets, staging away from the cutie ballet flat stage. i expect to see some girls sporting them tomorrow! i would love to wear a midheight heel with mid socks. but i dont think that my feet could bear over 12 hours in them!

5. a shoulder sling bag is always a necessary. you dont want to be forever pulling your bag back onto your shoulder, or slipping your clutch under your arm. so i think every girl who's ever spent a day dancing in the sun and running to catch a band knows that you need something to throw over your shoulder and be completely hands free!

6. i am white. i have never seen a slight tan on myself ever. apart from the countless times that i have tried to apply fake tan but failed miserably. even the lightest shade somehow manages to look orange on me because i am so pale. so i am one to wholeheartedly promote sunscreen and hats. i am looking in op shops for a schoolgirl style straw hat with a navy ribbon on it. mine from school unfortunately has a tree green ribbon, and i dont want to tear it off. other wise there are some cute bucket hats ( hear me out ) that i saw in shop at one stage. they aren't the horrible material that they used to be, and have cute patterns on them.

7. sunnies. i somehow always seem to end up with the sunnies mark on my nose. but they are a must have. the wayfarers will be everywhere tomorrow, but moreso now with cute patterns and bold colours. im wanting a pastel purple pair. but am yet to find any that i can afford! i will be wearing my brown and black patterned wayfarers.

8. long curls and dreamy braids are my favourite. so i will be curling my hair tomorrow, and maybe trying to attempt a braid. although my hair isnt thick enough for it to work as id like. but ill do my best. hopefully ill be able to get pictures. but my camera is broken. sad face. so i will be having to borrow my friends if she charges it.

9. i will be placing a light denim vest over my dress, to ease the pattern a little. I will also be laying bracelets and bangles, and my favourite cuffs. and also a few simple necklaces. and my three favourite rings!

10. in my bag. i am one to take everything. in case of emergencies. its either me being sensible or just paranoid. there will be my wallet, id, phone, pen, mini notebook, bandaids, chewies, water bottle, panadol (can i take this? i hope so. ill stash it in the bottom....), deoderant (roll on of course), mini perfume, mini sewing kit as i always break things. and i think thats it. ive probably forgotten to write something!

so to everybody who is also going to big day out tomorrow, have a lovely day and enjoy the sun!

i do

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being an Ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old grief's, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints,--I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life!--and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

one of my best friends is getting married tomorrow. its gotten me all sentimental and wishing i was close to where she is! but i do feel to young i will say that. she is 20 and she is going to be an absolutely stunning bride! im quite excited for the day. when she called me to tell me she was engaged i dont think ive ever been so ecstatic! and it made me cry of course. and just thinking about her standing up there makes me tear up too! the happy kind of course.
all i know about my wedding is that all the money will be spent on flowers :) and a vera wang dress.....the dress is me hoping and praying! they are so expensive. but sooooo beautiful. we'll see. maybe ill marry some rich, out of love of course.

my favourite time of day!

ive had a pretty lazy day today! i have practiced for a wedding im playing at on saturday, lounged in bed, cleaned a little and washed my dress for tonight. im going to see an adelaide band, the temps. im quite excited! i was thinking of not going, and continuing this laziness. but i should probably get out a bit more :)
right now though its coffee time! i love this time of day so much that i drew a label for it!

love in vain

Yeah, the train left the station, it had two lights on behind
Well, the blue light was my baby and the red light was my mind
All my love's in vain
All, all my love's in vain

daydream lily has alerted me to an amazing photography duo from sweden. waldemar and max. they take the most stunning photos! the models are angelic and the clothes are beautiful. i just wish i could live in these photos.

ellie girl

ellie neimeyer

ellie takes amazing photos, and she is just a meek 16 years old! one of my favourites is the one just above. Her redbubble site here, has a huge display of what she's taken. have a good, long look.

gardenia

i am in the process of cleaning up my new garden, and will soon be planting little seeds. i can't wait until they grow. i do live in a rental though, so this garden is not mine forever. but i dont mind! here already there are fruit trees, roses, agapanthas and some other wonderful things that i cant put a name too! but once the seasons change and scorching summer leaves us its going to look great!

little list

just a few things that i want to do this year. no resolutions, just things that i want to do better, or that i admire to change!

1. Relax; like proper
sometimes i tell myself that im relaxing, but really im not. i need the cup of tea under the covers with will and grace type of relaxing. or lying on the lawn with frankie type relaxing. i will do this!

2. shtudy hard
boarding college isnt really a motivator for me in terms of study! i got great grades at uni, but i could have spent so much more time and effort and gotten amazing grades. well i hope. so now that im in a house with less distractions, i shall endeavour to get sweet high grades and be proud of my work!

3. family time
pretty simple really. its hard to see them all the time. i just like seeing them everyday! if only i could live at home for the rest of my life!

4. coffee time
say yes, instead of "im busy" when im asked out with friends. if im the slightest bit tired or upset i just say no, whereas they could probably do me some good!

5. say fuji
take more photos. i need to get my digital fixed, although i rarely use it compared to my old slr. but anyways. i love my photos. and i am forever seeing amazing light and colour. so i should be even more snap happy!

6. blush be gone
i blush all the time. i blush when im not even embarrassed. i dont really know why. but i will work on being more confident so that i dont blush when i am embarressed. but honestly i think its just in my genes to be a blusher! its cute.....right?

7. shrink
sounds cliche but id like to drop a dress size. i know i dont need to, but i know i could tone up nicely, which would probably drop me a size and i would still be healthy. so yep. im gonna exercise more. now in search of that motivation....

8. back myself
yeh, someone told me a few times to back myself more. no one had ever pointed it out to me before. but i doubt myself in pretty much everything. its a big thing to work on. ill figure it out.

9. love
uh huh.

10. housewife practice
now that i have my own house and kitchen i can BAKE!!! ive made some delicious batches of things already and i cant wait to see what else i can conjur up. just getting in practice for when i have a lovely husband (where are you) ha. and garden :) flowers here i come

11. look book
dress for what i like, not to cover up my love handles. baggy, unneeded clothes be gone. well, not gone. but toned down a notch.

12. bargain bins
i need to save. big time. so its fortunate that i looooove love love op shops and markets. i cant wait to explore more, my new road has loooooads!

13. plandiddyplan
for my holiday once i finish uni. its going to be amazing.

theres many more. but thats just a taste.

ok.

yep.  i can safely say that i feel the need to blog about every pretty thing i see. an immediate thought when sighting a nice object is; "new blog post, yessss".  so therefore, seeing as i only recently in the last two months started this blog, there are a lot of pretty things i had saved in the past, which i now will have to blog about. meaning that there could possibly, just maybe, be lots of posts, because i have had no outlet for so long. enjoyyy.
