sunny

gosh i love my garden.
i got from home from work this morning about 930 and took some photos.
it curedmy annoyance of having woken up at 530. although i did get home and the housemates were still in bed/pjs. major jealous!
oh the life of a worker.

but good news the bulbs i planted last week are peeking through the soil.
i cant wait to see them when they're all pretty. i planted gladiolis :)
and my alysium seeds are also starting to get bigger. they're quite cute
at the moment. sweet alice is one of my favourites.

well have a nice day everyone.
today is my one and only day off of the week from work and uni so i will
do something fun hopefully. i have to clean the house and do three assignments for
tomorrow but the weather is so good it will distract me!

in complete awe!

I'll ask you to excuse me now for such a long post!
I found these pictures, and was trying to sort out which few i would post,
but I am head over heels for them all!

I can imagine wearing this on a picnic date, how sweet.

This would definitely be my favourite.
I think its just amazing. I'm in looooooooove!

This dress is the cutest. Im loving the peter pan colar and the contrast between
the floral top half and the bright red skirt. and the scalloped lace hemming
is actually to die for!

I am not as keen on this dress as the rest, but i would like to take those
shoes off of her and run!

I am utterly intrigued with the quilted look. And so tempted to try and make one
similar to the one just above. It couldn't be too hard right? Its a simple cut
dress. All i need is some fabric triangles and off I go!

This is just too cute.

Going with the russian theme, doesnt this dress remind you of a babushka doll?
I laaaahooooove it!

The end lace dresses.........just oh ma gaaaaawwsssh!

These dresses are all from the new Erdem SS 2011 line.
I actually just can't get enough of all of the beautiful dresses.

And to top it off, the inspiration came from one of my favourite ballets, Petrouchka.
Erdem was lucky enough to be co-curating an exhibition about Diaghilev, and his
Ballet Russes. He produced some amazing things back in his day!
Erdem was able to sort through everythingand experience all of the amazing
fabrics and textures that ballet dancers like Nijinsky worewhile performing in the
stunning shows. The designs are also reflective of the music that appeared
in the ballets. Igor Stravisnkys Petrouchka is such a vivid and interesting
sound, and I can seethe sound peeking through in the dresses.

The influence from russia is so obvious in the patterns and shapes of the new line.
It explains the tight bodices and flowing, bouncy skirts. And also the patchwork.
The clothes are perfect for summer. The georgous prints and amazing designs are just
what I need to be inspired by, I have been dreading the heat! Theres also a hint
of sex appeal in these dresses, with sheer laces and secret slits up the
sides of the dresses ;)

I hope you love the dresses. Excuse my ranting :) I studied the russian ballet
petrouchka a few years ago in my final year of highschool. I thought it was
amazing then, but now im even more in awe.
thank you Erdem!!!!

far away

i want to be back in the uk, where i felt normal.
i love the air, the smell, the sun, the breeze, the life.
the cobblestones, the chipped wood, the nature, the old trees.

i want to trawl through carboots, visit old antique stores in
quiet towns along the coast. I want to find secret stores in the
back streets of edinburgh, with amazing things.

and i want to meet a nice boy from the country side.
not like the aussie countryside, with rm williams and stubbies,
one who will walk through fields with me, who can play the
guitar while i try to play along. One who is extremely handsome,
sweet and stong, and will come with me when
i stroll to pick wildflowers and berries.

do you think i could pick up my family, pets,
friends and attachments and shift them all over? for free?
i dont think its going to happen.
 but a girl can dream.
its so hard! being over there felt so natural, and sometimes,
here doesnt. but what can you do.

where do you feel drawn to? where would your perfect
home be, if you could take your loved ones too?

photos here and here

oh nice!

well i definitely just fell in love with this wonderful work.
and this is only a teensy tiny bit of her interior decorating.
she does absolutely amazing things.
have a look for yourself here:

what do you think?

my garden is looking lovely at the moment.
sorry the photos are a little blurry!

sweet placings.

such a beautiful bridal shower.
i think mine would be similar to this. with flowers and sweet placings.
but maybe some more earthy natural colours with wildflowers.
